We are the largest and most comprehensive spa area with over 2500 square meters, and this is the only hotel that has established its spa on a genuine mineral source. Experience the authentic and pure spring water when you visit us.

Every day fresh spring water swirl from 55 m depth to our spring water cave. Nutritious and healthy. 20 years needs the water on its journey through the cleansing mother masses under the beech wood forest and into the Farris Bad.

Our spa area focuses on the physical and mental exercise, balanced diet and treatments. Here you will find outer and inner calm.

Dr. Kneip method is our mantra. We want you to experience the warm and the cold element. Switch between several hot saunas, steam rooms and swimming pool to cold ice fountains, showers and cold plunge pool. Medicinal- and health prevention is the effect. The history of the source and the original Farris Bad

100,000 years of glacial moraine formed Larvik and where Norway's largest beech forest stands. 10,000 years ago the ice retreated, and the water trickling through the rubble and gathered for a purified, nutrient source.
Since time began, mineral spring water swirled up in Larvik. Nutritious and healthy.

In year 1843, Karen Linaae established the first bathhouse on this source. In 1880 founded Dr. Ingebrigt Holm a new bathhouse. Famous artists and writers as Ibsen and Bjornson, Lagerlöf and Hamsun visited Farris Bad. They stayed here, they took their bath here, they danced here. And soon the bubbling, healing waters from Larvik became known throughout Europe.

History of New Farris Bad

Farris Bad`s historical name is the same and the place is still the same. The mighty sea still strikes on our beaches - and the source is the same.

Already in 1990, the idea for a hotel on the Battery beach was released by Mille Marie Treschow. The construction began in 2007, after many years of struggle for the building permit.

March  5^th  in 2009 the new Farris Bad opened with 176 rooms and suites, 2.500 sqm spa and conference facilities for up to 400 people.

With one foot on land and one foot in the sea, with one foot in history, and one foot in the future.

The hotel is owned by Mille Marie Treschow and Stein Erik Hagen. The investment amounts to 350 million.

Farris Bad operated by Nordic Choice Hotels  AS, Scandinavia's largest hotel chain with over 8000 employees and a turnover of over 5 billion.

Farris Bad is the first own brand in Norway Choice introducers as a unique brand. Farris Bad should therefore be developed as an independent brand.
